The Oliver Foundation Teen Advisory Board‘s mission is to energize kids and teens to be more health-conscious through community and school outreach projects that encourage lifelong healthy eating and physical activity habits. As Teen Board members, we serve as role models to our peers through our commitment to promoting our motto:
“YEAH!”– YOUTH EXCITED ABOUT HEALTH! Our goal is to inspire and motivate our generation to live healthy, balanced life and make healthy choices. The Oliver Foundation Teen Advisory Board was established in 2004 and remains an active advisory board to the Oliver Foundation.

Ayla Patel
President
The Kinkaid School – Houston, TX
Teen Board Member 2023 – Present
Ayla is a senior at The Kinkaid School. She is passionate about connecting with her community through numerous community service efforts, such as holding the Vice President position in the Student Hero Program at the Houston Food Bank, as well as being Co-Founder and Co-President of her school’s Kinkaid Welcomes Refugees Club. Additionally, Ayla enjoys playing violin, and competes in numerous competitions annually. Outside of school and extracurriculars, Ayla enjoys running, spending time with her friends and family, and reading.
Jack Brown

Memorial High School – Houston, TX
Teen Board Member 2023 – Present
Jack is a junior at Memorial High School. He believes in service and loves helping others. Jack enjoys volunteering at his church in a variety of outreach ministries. Jack also serves on the Texas Children’s Food Allergy Teen Board and is an ambassador for The Red Sneakers for Oakley Foundation. Jack was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease at the age of four. He believes the hardships he faces with his health on a daily basis makes him more empathetic and compassionate towards other hardships. One day he hopes to become a doctor to serve others and help them live a better and longer life. In his free time Jack enjoys running, going to the gym, and the occasional video games.
Matthew Chuan

Teen Board Member 2022 – Present
Matthew is a junior at Memorial High School. He is part of National Honor Society and a member of the Sinfonia Orchestra. He is active in Boy Scout troop 642, a troop guide, life scout, and one of the troop’s representatives to the Order of the Arrow. To stay active, he attends Boy Scout campouts and plays soccer. Matthew loves, hiking, and completed a 12-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. Matthew is also active in his school and has co-founded two clubs and attends a few more.
Sophia Burnette

St. John’s School – Houston, TX
Teen Board Member 2022 – Present
Sophia is a senior at St. John’s School. She takes interest in activities such as Pilates, ice skating, and krav maga. Her favorite thing to do in her free time is read or go to the gym. She participates in other organizations such as NCL and Jack and Jill. In the Oliver Foundation, she enjoys writing newsletters and presenting advice on organization, physical health, and mental health. Lastly, Sophia has always loved artistic activities like drawing, fashion design, and ceramics.
Niketa Pati

Teen Board Member 2024 – Present
Niketa is a sophomore at Dulles High School. She is involved in debate, DECA, and is a member of HOSA, SNHS, and GirlUp. Niketa also started an organization advocating for women empowerment and healthcare access. Outside of school, Niketa has been dancing for over 10 years, in both Bollywood and Bharatanatyam. She aspires to be a pediatrician in the future.
Ariyana Patel

Ariyana Patel is a junior at Travis High School. She is an active member of the GSA Academy program, GIS Committee, SASA program, DECA, and Model United Nations (MUN). Ariyana currently serves as Vice President of the Spanish National Honor Society and Dance Coordinator for SASA. Beyond academics, she has been a proud member of the Girl Scouts for the past 11 years. Ariyana is committed to community service and leadership, which she plans to continue these efforts throughout her life. She aspires to pursue a career in either the medical field or law.
Raina Sheth

Raina is a junior at Elkins High School. She participates in the varsity Elite Dance Team, HOSA, and many more diverse clubs. Raina enjoys volunteering at the Laurel Glen Assisted Living home where she hosts bingo games and helps senior citizens navigate around the building. Raina aspires to be a dermatologist in the future.

Summer is a Senior at the John Cooper School. She plays volleyball in the fall and runs track in the spring. On campus, Summer is President of Active Minds, a mental health advocacy group, and she is on the board of Math Club and Medical Professionals at Cooper. Outside of school she enjoys volunteering at local charities with her mom, playing with her dogs and listening to The Weekend.
Aditi Vadassery

Teen Board Member 2024 – Present
Aditi is a senior at Clements High School. She serves as a student ambassador for the Texas HART program (Health Ambassadors for a Ready Texas) and is the founder and co-president of the HART club at her school. Through this initiative, she raises awareness about the importance of nutrition among teen and fostering healthier habits in her community. Aditi is a Girl Scout Ambassador which she has been involved in since elementary school. Her Silver Award project focused on addressing eating disorders and empowering teens to develop healthy eating habits. In her free time, Aditi enjoys dancing, painting, and drawing.
Anjali Bhavsar

Anjali is a 9th grader at Travis High School. She is a member of the JV tennis team, Deca, and the South Asian Student Association. Anjali’s favorite subject is biology and hopes to become a mental health/ behavioral health psychologist or therapist. Besides school and her extra-curricular activities, Anjali enjoys reading, hanging out with my friends, playing tennis and traveling with my family.

Johnny is a 9th grader at The Briarwood School. He loves to serve his community. He enjoys volunteering at the Fuente Food Pantry as well as other outreach opportunities at his church. Johnny participates in almost every school sport. He is a member of STUCO and helps plan school events. He loves to cook healthy foods and try new local restaurants. In his free time, Johnny enjoys running, going to the gym and being active in general.

Maya Patel is an 8th grader at the Kinkaid School. She is member of the Albion Hurricanes Soccer Club, and loves to contribute to her community. She has volunteered at the Houston Food Bank and Undies for Everyone. Maya has gone on multiple trips to community service centers with her school. In her free time, Maya loves to spend time with friends, family and play sports.
